Gülçin Karabağ continues her academic studies at Ankara University, Faculty of Political Science, Department of International Relations, where she is working on her PhD dissertation, which is concerned with the Turkey-Syria border. She got her BA and MA degrees (with the thesis entitled “TÖB-DER -The Association of All Teachers Unity and Solidarity- and Left Politics”) from Political Science and International Relations Department at Yıldız Technical University. She spent 2008-2009 fall at Germany-University of Bonn as an exchange student. Her research interests include relations between labour and capital at neoliberal capitalist era, the history of left politics in Turkey, political sociology, women labour, borderlands studies, the Middle East and Kurdish studies. Gülçin had worked as a research assistant in the Department of International Relations at Munzur University in 2012 -2017 and a researcher in Tübitak 1001 project, “Political Party Organizations and Youth Sections in Turkey”. She was a research fellow at Political and Social Research Institute of Europe (PS:EUROPE) in 2016-2018. Gülçin is currently working as a tutor in ACEV (Mother, Child Education Foundation) and as contributor at Medyascope TV. Gülçinis one of the founding members of Istanbul Political Research Institute (IstanPol).
